As some of you already know I had some heart problems in December 2008. I went in for a routine stent placement procedure to open up some blockage and had a major heart attack on the table. Long story short with a lot of prayer, God’s healing, great doctors and staff, and my good friends at cardio-rehab I am doing very well now.
We also lost Nicci’s Mom in August from an extended illness. We miss her dearly. Our hope was that she would get to see and enjoy our new home with us but I am sure she is watching from above.
With all the challenges we had this past year it was a blessing that we didn’t start the building project last year. We are now in a better situation for building with respect to my health and building costs and also the sale of our house is almost complete, we are just waiting for closing. We will soon be renting a house from our friends in Leavenworth which is another total blessing from God because we will be less than 5 minutes from our property where our house will be built. We are now hoping for a July 2009 ground breaking. We are so excited to get started and not only are we having a long time friend build the house for us we have a new and wonderful friend creating the design for our new home. The plan is absolutely amazing and we couldn’t be more excited about this project. As you can see with the picture that is at the top of our blog, we will have a great view of Icicle Ridge and the cascade mountains. I will be adding many pictures of us and our friends as the house moves along during construction, so check back often to see what is happening with the project.
